Drew Dance Presents the Female Body

Spring show features more than 60 students.

April 2019 – The female body is the theme of the spring dance show from Drew University’s Department of Theatre and Dance and Dramatic Society.

More than 60 students are performing in the show, which is directed by Assistant Professor Kimani Fowlin. The students who choreographed the dances sought to capture everything from female empowerment, self-acceptance and societal pressures to sexism, personal struggles and the influence of family life. In addition, one dance questions societal bias toward queer people. Here’s a closer look.
