March 2025 – Women’s History Month acts as a reminder to the world that the beauty, brilliance, and incredible contributions to society by women have primarily been overlooked and hidden. These months I like to add a coda 365/24/7 because it is crucial to keep this in mind all the time!

Here is a short list of trailblazing women that I cherish and honor. I would like to uplift Zora Neale Hurston, Katherine Dunham, Pearl Primus, Nikki Giovanni, Blondell Cummings, Audre Lorde, June Jordan, Shirley Chisholm, Ella Fitzgerald, Toni Morrison, Maya Angelou, Abbey Lincoln… These phenomenal Black Creatives have paved the way so I could walk this path and use my voice powerfully and affirmatively. I am because they were and I am eternally grateful to live in the rich legacy of these Artivists.

If nothing else it is a reminder about how amazing and resilient we are in the face of adversity—we shine!

Access this link that praises and salutes women all over the world.

I will leave you with these words from adrienne maree brown:
you are enough
your work is enough
you are needed
your work is sacred
you are here
and i am grateful
