Pre-Health Opportunities
One of the best ways for students to confirm that a career in health care is right for them is to gain firsthand experience in the field. Additionally, health professional schools require that applicants can demonstrate their ability to provide patient care and understand what it is like to work in a hospital or clinical setting. Examples of common activities and experiences include volunteering at a nursing home, shadowing a physician or other health professional, participating in a summer internship at a hospital, working as an Emergency Medical Technician, and supporting a clinical research project. Below is a list of programs and databases to support you with finding the right opportunity.
