The Drew Summer Science Institute (DSSI) is a program that pairs students with faculty mentors for an individual experience working full-time on a research project. More than 50 students participate in comprehensive science research on Drew’s campus each summer under the guidance of a research mentor. The Drew Summer Science Institute is only open to Drew University students. Learn more about the our mentors and their research interests.
As a DSSI member, you are provided with a weekly stipend and housing while you work one-on-one with your faculty mentor for 8 weeks during the summer. You meet regularly with your fellow DSSI members at weekly lunchtime meetings to discuss your projects. At the conclusion of the program, you present your results to the Drew community at the annual Spring Day of Scholars Event.

DSSI gives you the chance to pursue real-world scientific questions, and provides opportunities to establish professional relationships with faculty and their collaborators at research universities and local industries. The Drew Summer Science Institute is open to students in Anthropology, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, Psychology, and Statistics.
